U KNOW ???????????????

The Red Fort has finally found a place in UNESCO's list of World Heritage sites. You know - It does come as a surprise, given that the last time the Red Fort was under consideration. Its candidacy had been rejected because UNESCO did not have confidence that the ASI could meet maintenance standards.

Any visitor to the Red Fort knows that the Structure is magnificent. One can easily notice Red Sandstone, the tricolor, large fields , green grass, flowers and the palpable sense of being in the midst of history .................... it is all there.
But how many people (visitors) take care of it. Do they give importance ?????????????????
A closer look, however, reveals the unfortunate tendency of the average Indian to literally spit in the face of heritage. I am not able to understand that why they can't understand the importance of this heritage. Isn't it precious for us??

This is the real tragedy of the commons in India : what belongs to everyone actually belongs to no one. While most Indians keep their homes clean, they think nothing of dirtying their neighbourhoods, roads or even monuments. For some people - public places are not to take pride in, but to dump our garbage and use as open-air toilets.
Our treatment to these buildings reflects our immaturity and lacking in civic sense.

Announcing Red Fort's inclusion in the list, UNESCO described it as representative of Mughal creativity. But the present day Red Fort owes more to the modern India's creativity than anything else. Yes, I am talking about the "Nakasshi" by General Public.

Once I had heard from my Great Grand pa that the fort was designed as an imitation of paradise as described in Qur'an, a couplet inscribed in the palace reads "If there be a paradise on earth, it is here, it is here".

I AM NOT SURE ------------------ ABOUT THE INDIAN IDEA OF
PARADISE.

Leo Tolstoy : The Calendar of Wisdom

This was Leo Tolstoy's last major work. With it , he fulfilled a dream he had nourished for almost fifteen years, that of "collecting the wisdom of centuries in one book" meant for a general audience. Tolstoy put a huge amount of effort into its creation. It was his own favourite everyday reading.

In 1884, he had decided to collects ---- "A wise thought for every day of the year, from the greatest philosophers of all times and all people". He wanted to create a circle of reading for himself. According to him - This is also necessary for all people.

In one letter, he had told his assistant that " I know that it gives one great inner force, calmness, and happiness to communicate with such great thinkers as Socrates, Epictetus, Arnold, Parker .......... they tell us what is most important for humanity, about the meaning of life and about virtue............ I would like to create a book ............. in which I could tell a person about his life, and about the Good Way of Life."

You know, Tolstoy had worked for fifteen years to collect these thoughts. He began writing between December 1902 and January 1903. He took the thoughts collected from a very large number of works and collections. He indicated the author of each thought beneath it. In some cases. he translated these thoughts not directly from their original sources, but from a translation from the languages in which they became known to him, so sometimes his translations might not be completely identical to the originals. When he translated thoughts by German, French, or Italian thinkers, he did not strictly follow the original. He had always tried to make it shorter and easier to understand, and omitting some words.

In his book " The Calendar of Wisdom" he has written Golden thougts for every day . He has started from January 1 to December 31.

According to Tolstoy, if everyday people read this thought (only one page everyday) and try to implement it in their life ----- they will really feel good from inside and they will become good human being.

All the thoughts are very alive and fantastic .Here, I am writing one or two of my favourite thoughts from his book "The Calendar of Wisdom" .

1) God exists only for those who looks for him. Start looking : you will find him in you and yourself in him.
Fyodor Strakhov

2) The secret of happiness? Enjoy small pleasures.

All The Way From Allopathic To HomoeoPathic

Hahnemann - Father of Homoeopathic .

Dr. Samuel Hahnemann was born on April 10, 1755 in a very beautiful town of Germany -- Meissen.
His father Christian Gottfried Hahnemann, together with his mother, Johanna Christiana, born Spiess, for a pastime taught him to read and write. He was a brilliant man and also it is said that he was a person to whom we can say full of Determination. He was fond of learning different languages and at the age of twenty two years, he was master of Greek, Latin, English, Italian, Hebrew, Syriac, Arabic, Spanish, German, and some smattering of Chaldaic.

I have read one book which was written for Dr. Hahnemann By Thomas Lindsley Bradford, M.D, one line of that book is here -:
"It is said that when he wished to understand anything in a language with which he was not familiar he at once commenced the systematic study of that language".

Don't you think that it was a amazing quality.

In his college, he was unwittingly preparing himself for his great future.
He remained in this hospitable haven for one year and nine months, when he was able to gratify his desire to obtain the degree of physician. On August 10, 1779, he received the honorable title of Doctor of Medicine.
But, when he started prcticing medicine , he was not very satisfied with his work. Hahnemann was very soft from heart. It was really unbearable for him to see the patients in poor condition. He was also worried about the side effect of medicine and treatment which they provide because their peculiar effects have not yet been examined, and so easily occasion death, or produce new affections and chronic maladies, often more difficult to remove than the original disease. Above all the pain and cry of patients -- totally unjustice.

He then decided to discover something that is painless and have no side effects and he then made several successful experiments with Homoeopathic medicine, which necessarily still further excited his attention to the subject, and favorably convinced him, that Homoeopathia could not be thrown aside with contempt, but was worthy of a rigid investigation.
And in this way, he has discovered Homeopathic medicine ---- blessing from his side to our society.

And completed his journey from Elopathic to Homeopathic, thats why he is known as a "Father of Homeopathic".

My School Days

Full of Masti, full of Hungama --- ya, my school days were really full of enjoyment. Imagine, when anyone is surrounded with friends -- friends who are motivating, helping and belong to the category on whom you can rely anytime.
Teachers - Understnding & Inspiring. Some were really strict but most of them were helping with friendly attitude. Can't forget my Library teacher who had given me the name " Golden Girl of the School" and ya 100% concentration of My PT sir who were always ready to spend 6 continuous hours for my practice during Sports camp. And how can I forget my class teacher
who was also my Chemistry teacher -- sweet, friendly but sometime she behaved really boring, you know when she sounds like that - obviously, during Deepawali when we played with crackers and its sound came from rest room and from the small garden which is just behind the Principal office. Then, she started to give lecture that we shouldn't do this. And we told it "Nasihat". But, it doesn't mean that we didn't respect her. Still, I respect her. All my school teachers are very respectable for me.
In my school, with studies there were so many extra-curricular activities - Dance program, Drama, Debate Competition, and many more things. I loved to participate in all school activities. Have attended Vedic camp (organise during winter vacation) and the best part of my School was Sports camp. It is organized at the zonal level (North Bihar and Nepal Zone) every year. And we call it MHRT(Mahatma HansRaj Aryan Tournament). As a sport girl, I have attended all sports camp during my schooling and won several Gold Medals in Shot-put, Discuss and Javelin. And bcoz of this my Library teacher had given me the name of "Golden Girl". All the moments that I had spent in sports camp are really unforgettable for me. There I got the chance to become the most popular girl among all the participants. I can not forget the moment when got my first Gold medal - The Golden Moment of my Life.
Hey, can anybody live without falling in love , I mean to ask first crush especially if it is co-ed.
There were so many guys who had proposed me, but I liked a guy who was my dance partner in almost every dance competition and dance program. But it was very well known to me that luv before 17 or 18 is just infatuation ---- so, I had never told him about it. Still, he is very good friend of mine . And, I am happy bcoz today I know --- that was not love but likeness. I can say this because today I know who is my true love????????????????
At last, I can say that nothing could be better than School Life . Isn't it??
Sometime, I think --Can't be it possible to go back in our past .......................................
